Pigeon Forge Winterfest 2012
Winterfest is a four month long festival of this beautiful
season in the Smokies. Winter activities and holiday decorations can be found
throughout Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville. Winterfest begins
November 6 and goes through February 28, 2013.
Winterfest begins the right way with a kickoff celebration
on November 6. The Salute to Veterans Parade begins the festivities at 4:30pm as
it honors the men and women who have served in the military. The parade begins
at the south end of town and continues down the Parkway to Patriot Park. There
will be live entertainment from the Pigeon Forge Community Chorus with the
highlight of the evening being the ceremonial lighting of the Pigeon Forge
Winterfest displays and lights.
For a fun and unique way to see the millions of lights that
illuminate Pigeon Forge during Winterfest, take a Trolley Tour of Lights. The
heated enclosed trolleys depart at multiple times nightly from Patriot Park.
Your tour guide will even share stories about Pigeon Forge’s history and the
Winterfest displays.
Throughout the Winterfest festivities you’ll be able to
attend special events, hear traditional mountain music, and taste seasonal
delicacies around town. Every season is beautiful in Pigeon Forge, but there’s
just something magical about spending the holiday season in the Smokies.
