Experience a Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood

Revel in the spirit of the holidays at Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas, the premiere Christmas Festival in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  Scheduled for November 10 – December 30, 2012, the spectacular event features dazzling light displays, exciting live Christmas shows, Santa’s Workshop and more! With the purchase of Dollywood tickets, guests can enjoy a Smoky Mountain Christmas experience filled with holiday cheer.

The Dollywood theme park is decorated with over 4 million lights during Smoky Mountain Christmas, creating a festive atmosphere where you can turn moments into memories. The winter-wonderland type atmosphere includes the Carol of the Trees, a seasonal symphony highlighted by thousands of lights synchronized with holiday music that transforms the Rivertown Lake area. The Parade of Lights features Christmas floats decorated with brightly colored lights and holiday characters.
Dollywood Christmas shows abound with holiday cheer and celebrate the reason for the season. Featured shows include Dollywood’s Christmas on Ice, Christmas in the Smokies, Appalachian Christmas, ‘Twas the Night before Christmas, O Holy Night and Christmas with the Kingdom Heirs.

Dollywood’s Christmas on Ice is an amazing production featuring the Ice Theater of New York. They skate, spin and spiral on the ice to the sounds of the season. Christmas in the Smokies features a 12-member cast and 7-piece band performing classic holiday favorites. Appalachian Christmas celebrates Christmas acoustic-style at the Back Porch Theatre. O Holy Night presents the traditional Christmas story and elaborates on the reason for the season. ‘Twas the Night before Christmas features a family finding its own Christmas miracle with the help of a mysterious, white-bearded stranger. Christmas with the Kingdom Heirs is another great show to see, as the Kingdom Heirs perform southern gospel Christmas music that keep spirits high.

The Polar Express 4-D Experience at Dollywood invites guests on an extraordinary journey based on the book by Chris Van Allsburg, which inspired the animated movie of the same name.

Santa’s Workshop is also a favorite of park-goers. It features larger-than-life sized toys, an 18-foot tall Christmas tree and a cast of colorful characters that bring out the kid in everyone.

The Robert F. Thomas Chapel also hosts worship services at 5:30pm each Sunday throughout Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival.
