Pigeon Forge Car Shows Rev Their Engines This September
Two of the Smokies most popular car shows roll into PigeonForge this fall. Millions of car lovers
flock to the area for the Shades of the Past Rod Run and Grand Fall Pigeon
Forge Rod Run. These shows feature rare and unique autos as well as swap meet
items and interactive displays.
If you are not a fan of cars shows, I would plan a Pigeon Forge vacation on another weekend. These cars shows, especially the Fall Grand Rod Run, fill up the town and line the streets with automobiles. Driving is congested because everyone takes their time to cruise and look at the cars on display. But, if you do love cars be sure to come out for two of the best cars shows in the Smokies.
The Shades of the Past Rod Run features classics, rods, and
customs through 1972. The 29th annual event is scheduled for September 7-8,
2012 at Dollywood’s Splash Country water park. This event is also a sanctioned
AMSOIL 2012 Street Rodder Road Tour Stopover. Plus, this is the 30th anniversary for the hot
rod roundup. Top 25 judging will take
place on Friday, September 7, with winners announced at 5pm. The Winners
Showcase will be on Saturday, September 8.
The Fall Grand Rod Run, located at the Grand Resort Hotel,
is scheduled for September 14-15, 2012. This
is the sister event to the Spring Grand Rod Run in Pigeon Forge. This rod run is completely made up of hot
rods and is very popular with car enthusiasts.
