Pigeon Forge is offering plenty of summer fun for visitors to this Tennessee town. With a new attraction at Dollywood, two all-new shows and plenty of outdoor activities, a Pigeon Forge vacation should be at the top of your summer plans.

Adventure America Ziplines

Dollywood added the Barnstormer attractions to its theme park rides. The $5 million attraction is a family thrill ride with a barnyard theme. The ride features two pendulum arms with seating for 32 riders. Seated back to back, riders get progressively higher on each swing, reaching a speed of 45mph and 230 degrees of rotation. The Barnstormer takes guests 81 feet in the air, giving awesome aerial views of the surrounding scenery.

Dollywood also hosts KidsFest June 17-August 7, the south’s largest children’s festival.

Pigeon Forge shows are always a great way to be entertained. Two new options include the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show, located at the old Black Bear Jamboree Theater. After undergoing an extensive renovation, the theater has a country-fied setting that divides the audience into Hatfield and McCoy seating areas, as the theater audience participates in the ongoing feud. Highlights of the production include daring stunts, hilarious comedy, dancing and incredible singing, all of which are accompanied by a delicious southern feast.



Lumberjack Feud



The Great Smoky Mountain Lumberjack Feud will be open for some late summer fun. Scheduled to open in September, this show combines the traditions and history of the Appalachian timbering with modern-day lumberjack athletic competitions. It will feature axe swinging, log rolling, tree climbing and chainsaw carving, and will include a picnic meal.



Of course, when you visit the area home to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you’ll want to spend some time in the great outdoors.
