More Details Released for Upcoming Dolly Parton Parade
The 25th Anniversary of the Dolly Parton Parade is set for May 7 at 6pm. This annual springtime salute to Pigeon Forge’s hometown superstar will have a special feel due it being the Silver Anniversary of the event.
2010 also serves as the 25th Anniversary year for Dollywood, the theme park that carries Dolly’s name.
This years parade will feature a color guard from Boy Scout Troop 110, which will lead the way along the 2.5 mile route on the Parkway. Behind the Boy Scouts will be more than 100 floats, bands, equestrian clubs, twirler groups, dance teams and other parade floats.
The most anticipated float will carry Parton, who grew up just a few miles outside of Pigeon Forge.
The 2010 parade theme is “Celebrate the Dreamer in You.”
Parade float participants include Pigeon Forge Theaters and Pigeon Forge Entertainers, the Knoxville Zoo, Zorb Smoky Mountains, the Foothills Antique Tractor & Engine Club and a Wells Fargo Stage Coach.
The parade will start at Traffic Light 6 on the Parkway and end at Traffic Light 3.
